Crock Pot Chicken (and Soup)

Combine:
3 tsp salt
2 tsp paprika
cayenne pepper  (a dash to 1 tsp per taste) 
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
 
1. Clean chicken and rub with spices.
2. Dice 1/2 onion and put in crock pot.  
3. Place chicken on top of onions and cook on low for 8 hrs until internal temperature of chicken reaches 180 degrees.
4.  Carve chicken saving all unused pieces (bones, carcus, skin, etc.) for Next Day Soup recipe below
 

Next Day Chicken Soup
1. Put all bones, skin, etc back in crock pot (do not clean) with 6-8 cups water.  
2. Cook overnight on low.
3. Skim out bones, skin, etc.  
4. Add spices from above, 2 chopped carrots, 2 cubed potatoes, and left over chicken. 
5. Cook on high for 2-3 hours.
6. Add egg noodles and cook on high for 30 minutes or until noodles are done.
